Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation

Illamasqua was never a brand that i ventured into very much until Pixiwoo started using more of their products. I first saw Illamasqua's Skin Base foundation used by the Pixiwoo sisters on YouTube and was instantly interested in it. So at the first opportunity i had to run out and buy it i did.
The girl in the shop tested it on my skin to try and match the best colour to me, which at the time i had fake tan on so it was a bit darker than my natural colouring. She also used one of their powder foundations on top of the Skin Base, i was immediately in love. My skin had never been so flawless. This is definitely a medium to fuller coverage foundation, which i personally like in a foundation. I bought both the foundation and the powder she used on my skin and i haven't looked back since. I currently own three of the Skin Base foundations in different colours and it will remain in my make up collection for a long time.
The Skin Base foundation is described as being ' Easily blendable formula effortlessly creates a perfect complexion' 100% true in my opinion!
I have oily to combination skin and find that a lot of foundations tend to melt off my face easily, this has good staying power on my skin and lasts the whole day, i do find however that i do need to powder again on my t-zone during the day. This foundation does need a powder to set it and give it that extra staying power.
I absolutely love this foundation. They have a huge range of colours and unlike a lot of higher end brands they have lots of colours for paler skin tones. So if your like myself and searching for that foundation that gives you good coverage, without looking cakey and has a good choice of colours then this baby is for you!

I now own a few of Illamasqua's products and love them all. This is definately a brand that i will carry on purchasing from, and they are also cruelty free.

Have you tried Skin Base? What are your thoughts on it?

This or That Tag

Seeing as I'm just back in the blogging world i thought it would be easiest just doing a wee tag. I saw this on Louise's blog and thought i would give it a go.

Make Up

Blush or Bronzer?
Defiantly blush, i am a blush fiend! My all time favourite makeup item to buy!

Lipstick, lip glosses can depend on my mood,

Chapstick or Lip Butter?

Gel, Liquid or Cream Eye Liner?
Gel! I'm never without it

Foundation or Concealer?
Like Mascara, I need foundation.

Liquid or Powder Foundation?
Liquid

Neutral or Colour Eye Shadow?
Neutral

Pressed or Loose Eye Shadow?
All the eyeshadows i own are pressed so can only go with what i know

Non waterproof, it hurts too much to get waterproof off

Brushes or Sponges?
Brushes! I get spots easily and brushes are easily cleaned

Powder Highlighter, Cream or Liquid?
LOVE them all, cheating i know.

Nails

OPI or Essie?
OPI

Acrylic or Natural?
I love getting acrylics but i regret it once their off because my nails get in such a mess from them, but i cannot grow my natural nail. Sigh.

Brights or Darks?
Brights

Matte or Shiny?
Shiny, never actually tried a matte nail.

Glitter or No Glitter?
Glitter only on an accent nail

Body

Perfume or Body Splash?
Perfume's a must

Lotion or Body Butter?
Body butter because i have dry skin

Body Wash or Soap?
Body wash, more convenient in a bottle, and i would probably drop soap

Self Tanners or Natural?
I love tanning but it is way too much maintenance for me, as i'm so pale, one coat of tan takes me to someones natural colour so its difficult for me. I also love my bedding white and without tan all over them.

I tag anyone who would like to do this! Let me know if you do it!

Just a little update

So, it have been somewhat ages since i last blogged properly! This blog has been about for a few years and its just something i have never stuck to properly! I do think that blogging can be time consuming and this is probably the main reason why i always seem to leave it.
Well, i want this to change. I love blogs, reading them, looking at everyone's beautiful pictures and well, just being a little nosey! I like finding out everyone's opinions on brands and products and whether or not something might suit me personally.

As it has been so long, i thought i might update you all on whats been happening in my life, honestly not very much but here it goes.
Probably the biggest and most achievable thing i have done in the last few years is get my degree in Hospitality Management. Hospitality, as you all will know, is one of the biggest industries out there, and even though being in this particular industry can be challenging, i am glad that its something that i'm qualified in. Its something that can potentially take me anywhere in the world and is something i can use anywhere! Its however not what i would like to stay in for the rest of my days. I'd love to be involved in the beauty industry somewhere, make-up artistry in particular, the idea of being surrounded by make up all day and being artistic in different ways, on different people is my idea of heaven, but that could just be my girly side talking. But for the time being i need to be a little more realistic and try and progress in the current job i'm in and maybe someday i will try and venture into doing something in the beauty world- A girl can dream!

For all the other changes in my life, I decided to make a huge life style change and become a vegetarian, probably a good year and a half ago now. It still does have its difficult times but i am so proud of myself for not eating meat. I will be honest in that i am not always the strictest of veggies. I don't eat meat which is the most important part to me but i do however occasionally eat fish, which i know some of you will think is cheating but it is just whats easiest for me at the moment. Cutting out meat was easy for me as my dad is also a vegetarian and i love quorn and other kinds of meat substitutes out there. I also have decided to try my best to become cruelty free. A lot of it is trial and error and a lot of research is needed to be put into it but thankfully there are some wonderful bloggers and you tubers out there that make it so much easier!

I also live in a flat with two boys which can at times test my stress levels! One of them being an old friend and the other my brother... So as you can imagine, lots of arguments!

I am also at my happiest at the moment, and yes, you have guessed why... A Boy haha! Its a new relationship this year but has been the best year! Couldn't be happier with him.

The most recent thing i have decided to do is join the gym! I am seriously lacking in fitness and a bit of weight loss and toning wouldn't do me any harm either! So expect some posts on updates on how I'm getting on! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

There isn't much else that's worth letting you all know about, i probably didn't need to tell you all that i did but was just a wee update on whats been going on.

I hope your all well, please feel free to drop a comment to me, would love to speak to you all!
Take care,

The lipstick of all lipsticks

Since Topshop have come out with their own makeup brand, I have been hooked! They really are at a high end quality for their price range.
I own several of their products now including blushes, nail polish, lippies, right down to their own pencil sharpener. Each of the products I have tried have been fantastic and really do last a long time on the skin.

Now to talk about my favourite lippie. I have never really been one for super bright lips, but since I got this I am a convert. Brighton Rock is the best coral I have come across. I personally think it is a bit more pink/red based than other corals but it just looks fab on!

I own a few other topshop lipsticks but this is without a doubt my favourite at the moment. Im sure I will have a sneaky wee purchase of a few more soon.

£8 for this stunner is a very good price, especially for the quality and colour pay off.

I hope you are all doing well and look forward to hearing from some of you :)

A wee update :)

So I haven't blogged in, well, forever!! It's definitely something I want to get back into as I love reading all you lovely ladies blogs!

So I thought I would do a little update on what's new with me since I left the blogging scene. Where to begin?! Well I finished my uni course last year and officially have a BA degree in Hospitality management. I have followed that on and work on a reception desk in a four star hotel on the centre of Glasgow which I'm very much enjoying!
I have also recently moved into a beautiful 3 bedroom flat with my brother and an old friend from London, living with 2 boys, what am I thinking?! Believe me it's hard work sometimes!

I still have my ridiculous obsession with buying makeup, I dread to think how much I have spent on it over the last year! I am still going to be purchasing goodies over the months to come and would like to blog about my purchases if it's something you would all like to see?

I am also on twitter and instagram ladies so feel free to follow me!

I look forward to blogging a bit more, I hope you will all have a wee look and give me some tips etc to keep my blog up to date. :)

Thank you for reading
